Opening Tonight: Kimberly Trowbridge at Blindfold, Shaun Kardinal at Joe Bar and More

There are a lot of great art shows opening tonight in Capitol Hill. First, be sure to stop by the inaugural exhibition at the promising new Blindfold Gallery on E. Olive Way, featuring paintings by the incomparable Kimberly Trowbridge. I’ve been a fan of Kimberly’s work for years, but her new paintings are, like, among my favorite human artifacts in any medium in the history of the world, really and truly. Blindfold’s grand opening is from 6 to 9 pm this evening.

Up the street, Shaun Kardinal is mounting an exhibition of his beautiful hand-embroidered postcards and found images at Joe Bar. The exhibition opens from 6 to 9 pm. (Check out Sharon Arnold’s preview here.)

Over at Cairo, photographer Marielle Stobie (aka WT DVL) is presenting Strange Days, an exhibition of photographs with dark Northwest rock-n-roll undertones. (One of her photographs was recently used as cover art for Black Breath‘s new record on Southern Lord, girl’s blowing up big time…)

Finally, an enticing exhibition called SUBLIMINAL RESONANCE, featuring the work of Arrington De Dionyso, Margot Bird, Adair Tudor and Daniel Enders opens tonight at the DIY hub that is the In Arts Collective on 17th and Olive. Arrington’s work includes several large-scale erotic scrolls, check the vid:
