Michael Cepress: Wearable Art and the Body [WORKSHOP]

This weekend:

Cocoons by Michael Cepress

Seattle menswear savant Michael Cepress is leading a two-day workshop on Wearable Art and the Body at the University of Washington this Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29.  From the course description:

This is a two-day studio workshop focused on methods and techniques related to studying the human figure and creating wearable art pieces. The workshop will blend interests in FASHION, ART, THEATRICAL COSTUME, ETHNIC CLOTHING and BODY DECORATION to inspire you and generate fuel for a deeper understanding of how we celebrate and decorate the human body. Hands-on work time and guided instruction will leave students with a vast collection of developed drawings, ideas and prototypes that they may continue to develop in their own studio practice

Facebook event here.

Not only is Michael a genius, he’s a super fun, nice guy.  If you have any interest at all in creating costumes or otherwise designing artwork for the human body, this is a great opportunity to explore ideas in an intense, dedicated environment.  Contact Michael Cepress for more info.
