Opening Tonight: Jesse Paul Miller at Wall of Sound

In addition to being the best record store in Seattle, Capitol Hill’s esteemed Wall of Sound has taken to hosting art exhibitions.  Like, good art exhibitions.  Following on the heels of a surrealistic extravaganza by underground comic artist Max Clotfelter, for instance, WoS is curently presenting an exhibition of paintings by multimedia artist Jesse Paul Miller.   Known for his work with the sub-underground experimental band Factums and a mysterious series of Secret Records (consisting of playable art objects cast in LP molds), Miller’s recent paintings visualize the disorienting and fragmented auditory (and psychological) experience of the artist’s field recordings from his travels in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, and Japan.
