Mood Organ CD Release Show at Dissonant Plane
This Friday, August 28, composer (and Midday Veil member) Timm Mason is giving a performance as his solo project Mood Organ at Dissonant Plane in Ballard, in honor of the release of Visiting a Burning Museum, his first full-length CD on Seattle-based Debacle Records. This week in The Stranger, Chris DeLaurenti devoted his column The Score to Timm’s work.
Mason inscribes his music with poetic details that reward headphone listening: lonesome guitar, rustles of wind, swelling tones, and keyboards that sound like they’re underwater, blurred by shivering eddies and ripples.
As DeLaurenti mentions, Mood Organ’s live sets are unique performance events that explore instrumentation and sonic ideas you’re not likely to hear again. This Friday’s performance is free and starts at 7 p.m. sharp. See you there!
