Opening Tonight
There are some crafty exhibitions opening tonight in Pioneer Square. Greg Kucera has mounted the gallery’s first ever show of quilts and prints from the women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama alongside an exhibition of beautifully executed prints by internationally renowned South African artist William Kentridge.
At Platform Gallery, Cut offers an international glimpse of contemporary artists working in the medium of collage.
James Harris presents the gallery’s first solo exhibition of paintings by Jason Teraoka, as well as a body of photographs by Vic Muniz. Based on paintings by well known artists, Muniz constructs brilliant images of powdered pigment on a flat surface, which he then photographs.
All exhibitions open this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
